Best credit cards in the US
Browse 33 cards with full earn rates, fees, APRs and welcome bonuses, all in one place. Filter, sort, and compare to find the card that pays you the most.
Card terms change often. Rates, fees and welcome offers were read from each issuer's own page on the date shown, and you should confirm current terms with the issuer before applying. We add cards as we verify them rather than listing every card we could name.
Frequently asked questions
Is a rewards card worth it if I carry a balance?
No. At the APRs on these cards, roughly 17% to 30%, interest costs several times what any rewards rate returns. A 2% card against a 20% APR is a losing trade. If you carry a balance, clearing it is worth far more than optimizing rewards.
Does an annual fee ever pay for itself?
It can, but only against your actual spending. A $95 fee needs roughly $4,750 of spending at a 2% advantage over a no-fee card just to break even. Run your own numbers rather than trusting a headline earn rate.
What is Chase 5/24?
An unwritten Chase guideline under which applications are commonly declined if you have opened five or more credit cards across all issuers in the previous 24 months. It is not published in the card terms but it affects approval odds on Chase cards.
Why is this list shorter than other comparison sites?
Because every figure here was read from the issuer's own page rather than copied from another comparison site, and that is slow. We would rather publish a handful of cards we have verified than hundreds we have not.
